AVENUE G CHURCH OF CHRIST

OUR MINISTER
Christopher Wayne Stephens is a Christian, husband, and father. He was baptized at the 10th & M Church of Christ in Temple Tx at the age of 10 and preached his first sermon there at the age of 21. He and his family also served alongside the Holleman family ministering to the youth while there. He would later serve as youth minister there for a year before moving to serve as youth minister at the Cameron Central Church of Christ under Jesse Jackson.
He is in his final year at a Church of Christ seminary, Austin Graduate School of Theology, in pursuit of a Bachelor of Arts in Christian Studies. Chris was blessed to find his Good Thing(Prov. 18:22) in July of 2007 when he married his wife Delia. They have three daughters; Sirrah (8yrs old), Nadiyah (6yrs old), and Tessah (1yrs old).
He is proud of the fact that his family is active within the church as well. They began serving part time with the Sammons Community Center Church of Christ around 2015 and came to serve full time in November of 2016. Brother Stephens enjoys ministering to others through song, working with youth, teaching Bible classes, and preaching the word of God.
OUR CHURCH
We are a congregation that is a part of the larger body known as the Church of Christ. It is our goal to fear God and keep his commandments. We can only do that by observing what it is that God would have us to do according to His word, the Bible. We believe in the one established Church by Jesus Christ.
We are a People of More. We seek to Learn More through Worship Services and Bible study so that we can be a part of and function properly in His kingdom (Eph. 4:20-24).
We seek to Love More through fellowship with each other, seeking to harbor the horizontal (fellow man) and vertical (God) relationships of the early church in Acts (Acts 2:41-42).
We seek to Do More through several ministries outside the building being shining lights in a world of darkness (Matt. 5:15-16).
And we seek to Teach More, fulfilling the Great Commission found in Matthew 28:18-20, making disciples and baptizing them for the remission of their sins.
As People of More we are not focused on the completion of the pattern above but are instead focused on repetition of it. Learning, Loving, Doing, and Teaching More each time. #2LDTMORE #LearnLoveDoTeachMORE
