The Long Hard Path of Forgiveness

When someone wrongs you it is often very hard to deal with. It is not only a battle began by the offender but a battle within the offended. There is usually a battle within your heart asking if you will allow the person to cause such conflict within you again. There is a sense of fear that they could do even more damage next time. At times what makes it even worse at times is when the offender is someone you must deal with on a consistent basis. It could be your boss, sibling, church member, spouse, or child.

We must remember as Christians the forgiveness afforded to us through the sacrifice of Jesus. We must remember how we hurt God through sin letting him down time after time. God has a different mentality when it comes to forgiveness. He is Love. He is really the only one who can be offended when wronged because he has never wronged anyone! Let us strive to be like the father. It is hard path at times, but start taking steps down the path of Forgiveness.  Meditate on this...

Who is a God like you, pardoning iniquity and passing over transgression for the remnant of his inheritance? He does not retain his anger forever, because he delights in steadfast love. He will again have compassion on us; he will tread our iniquities underfoot. You will cast all our sins into the depths of the sea. Micah 7:18‭-‬19 ESV http://bible.com/59/mic.7.18-19.ESV
